Established in December 2000, Adam Bowes Commercials Ltd began as a one-man operation, offering a mobile service to clients around the East Riding of Yorkshire. As the business grew, additional staff and vehicles were added until the spring of 2004 when Adam decided that in order to better serve his clients, premises were required and he opened his workshop in the town of Market Weighton.

As the customer base expanded and and additional staff recruited, an opportunity arose to purchase an adjacent area of land, which Adam realised he would need in order to accommodate future business. At the same time, due to the increased use of on-board diagnostic and can-bus systems on both vehicles & trailers, he chose Texa diagnostics to supplement the workshop equipment and improve first time fix rates on ABS, EBS, ECAS & Engine Management issues.

The purchase of additional land turned out to be a wise decision, when in 2011, due to changes in HGV MOT testing, he was approached by VOSA (now DVSA) to discuss opening an Authorised Testing Facility in order to test heavy goods vehicles on site.

Ground was broken in Autumn of 2011 and the facility opened its doors in Spring of 2012, initially offering testing on two days each week. Good news travelled fast and within a short time, testing was expanded to five days in order to keep up with demand.

In Spring of 2018, our Authorised Tachograph Centre opened, continuing Adams vision of offering a comprehensive maintenance solution to valued clients.
